Nithya Menen says I just did Breathe 2 and it was totally my space
Nithya Menen who made her foray into Bollywood with Jagan Shakti’s Mission Mangal, will now be seen on Amazon Prime in Breathe 2.
“I just did Breathe 2 and it was totally my space, I enjoyed it. It was meant for an actor like me, because I could be as subtle and sensitive as I wanted. It is my space to be silent. The fact that OTT comes up with content pushes everybody to up their game a little bit,” she reveals.
“As an actor, it’s a very liberating experience, and I am looking forward to doing more such shows on OTT platforms,” she adds.
The first season of Breathe starred R. Madhavan, Hrishikesh Joshi, Atharva Vishwakarma, Neena Kulkarni and Sapna Pabbi. Meanwhile, the second season will see Abhishek Bachchan alongside Nithya.
Nithya Menen, who recently made her debut in Hindi with Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal, opened about how she handles all the body-shaming on social media. In an interview with reddiff.com, the actress admitted that trolling does affect her.
When asked about how she handles the troll, the actress said, “I think people are ignorant because they assume automatically that if you have weight issues, it’s because you are lazy and eat a lot. That’s ignorance. I want to say that one faces weight issues very rarely because of being lazy and eating. Trust me, especially in the case of actors, we are not lazy.”
She added that sometimes weight issues could be because of hormonal problems or other issues, which cause a great deal of pain. The OK Kanmani actress said, “We need to educate people that weight is not just because we are sitting and enjoying our lives. Of course, trolling hurts me. I do get upset.”
Nithya Menen made her acting debut as a child artist with the Indian English film The Monkey Who Knew Too Much (1998). The talented performer has acted in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
She will next be seen in Malayalam film Kolambi. In Tamil, she has been roped in to play former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa, in her biopic. She is also part of Mysskin’s Psycho, which has been put on hold due to legal issues.
