Aathmika missed Bollywood film due to language constraints
Aathmika debuted as a lead actress in the Tamil film ‘Meesaya Murukku’ opposite actor-turned-music director Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi. The romantic comedy was well-received, and Aathmika gave an excellent performance as a college girl.
Now, the latest report is that ‘Meesaya Murukku’ actress Aathmika was very close to getting a break in Bollywood but missed it due to language constraints.
Bollywood director Aanand L Rai, who has directed the Dhanush-starrer ‘Raanjhanaa’ and other super hit films, had offered a role to the young actress Aathmika in one of his directorials.
However, the actress had to pass it as the role required someone who was fluent in both Tamil as well as Hindi languages and the actress’ Hindi was not very polished.
Aathmika was very upset with herself as she was not confident about her Hindi despite being a big fan of Bollywood films. Now, she has decided to put her free time during the lockdown to good use by learning Hindi well.
The actress revealed in a recent interview that she wanted to be able to communicate well in the language. Meanwhile, Aathmika’s films ‘Naragasooran’ and ‘Katteri’ are long-delayed for release.
Before the lockdown began, the actress was working on ‘Kannai Nambathey’ with Udhayanidhi Stalin and an untitled film with Vijay Antony.
